Mamonaku, まもなく, The Next Station..

After leaving a place, there is always something we will miss about it. One of the things I miss most about Japan is the sound of the announcement “mamonaku” when approaching a station. 

Every time I hear it in a video, it brings back memories of my travels. Memories that feel so fresh, like they happened just yesterday.

A last-minute decision

Last year, I almost canceled my flight to Japan. I was feeling overwhelmed with work. But I’m so glad I didn’t cancel. That trip turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

At the time, I was mentally and physically exhausted. I didn’t realize how much I needed a break until I took it. When I arrived in Japan, I was finally able to rest, recharge, and just enjoy being away from my daily routine. 

This trip gave me the chance to take care of myself and reminded me how important it is to step back. 

Sometimes, we’re so busy with life that we forget how much we need a moment to have a break.

Best investment

When I returned, I didn’t just bring back souvenirs or photos. I came back with a fresh perspective on life. The trip helped me grow as a person and taught me more about the world and myself. 

This is one of the best investments I’ve ever made.

The world around us

Traveling has shown me how big and beautiful the world really is. I’m reminded of how much I haven’t seen yet, so many different cultures, ways of living, and stories waiting to be discovered. 

It amazes me how people in other parts of the world live differently with their own traditions and environments. 

But what stands out to me the most is how, underneath it all, we are all the same. 

Cherishing little moments

What I’ve come to appreciate most are the little moments. Like sitting and just watching the world go by, or sharing a laugh with someone who doesn’t even speak the same language.

I was touched by the kindness of strangers, whether it was someone helping me find my way or sharing a little piece of their culture with me. These small, beautiful moments stayed with me long after the trip was over.

Time and youth are precious

One thing I’ve learned is that time is valuable. Money can always be earned again, but time especially when we are young, cannot be replaced.

So, if you get the chance to travel, take it. These opportunities might not come again. You can always make money later, but you can’t bring back the time or the memories you missed.
